In August of 2005, based on a 2001 and 2004 assessment, CSTE requested that states and territories update their information about their public health profile and reporting requirements within their jurisdictions. This request was directed towards State Epidemiologists at each state or territorial health department.

The 2004 assessment (http://www.cste.org/nndssmainmenu2004.htm) included information about reportable public health conditions under state and territorial laws, and obtained information about the authority of state and territories to collect public health data, and the flow and pattern of disease reporting in jurisdictions.

A representative from each jurisdiction was given the opportunity to update their information online. For the states that did not participate in the update, CSTE used the information based on their reportable disease list to make any updateable changes. These states are marked with an asterisk (*).

State and territorial responses for questions regarding reporting profiles as well as reporting patterns for both notifiable and non-notifiable diseases and conditions can be viewed by clicking on the corresponding links below.
