Pumphandle Award Nomination Guidelines
This award honors a State, Local, Territorial or Federal Epidemiologist who exemplifies extraordinary contributions to and outstanding achievements in the field of applied epidemiology.

Nominations are made by letter explaining why the candidate is deserving of this award. Additional letters of support are welcome. Self-nominations are not accepted. The CSTE Executive Committee will review nominations and select a recipient. The award is given at the CSTE President’s Banquet during the annual conference.

Criteria for Award Nomination:

  1. The candidate is a State, Local, Territorial or Federal practicing or recently retired epidemiologist, career achievements required or a CV recommended
  2. The candidate has made significant contributions to the field of applied epidemiology, specific examples required
  3. The candidate has demonstrated leadership in the public health community, specific examples required.
