The Alcohol Epidemiology Subcommittee is one of several substance abuse-related subcommittees within CSTE. This subcommittee focuses specifically on alcohol epidemiology and was formed to address the various issues pertaining to the integrity of the field: data inventory, data development, indicator development, data analyses, outreach to other agencies, and support for prevention activities.

Currently, the subcommittee is working on a project to assess state-level estimates of alcohol-attributable death rates by demographic factors. The subcommittee meets monthly via conference call.
