Surveillance / Informatics: BioSense

BioSense 2.0 is a CDC-led effort partnering with CSTE, ASTHO, and NACCHO to create a user-driven, nationwide syndromic surveillance system. The redesigned BioSense will provide regional and nationwide situation awareness for all-hazard health risks and support national, state, and local responses to these threats.

CSTE joined this effort in June 2011 to:
  • Engage CSTE Members and inform them about the redesigned BioSense
  • Encourage CSTE members to provide technical expertise, feedback, and recommendations for BioSense 2.0
  • Help states join the new environment
  • Support development of and provide CSTE member participation in a new BioSense governance group
