Publications, Newsletters and Presentations

This clearinghouse developed by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) provides access to State-based occupational health surveillance and related reports. CSTE has developed outreach materials to help promote the Clearinghouse. Please see below for CSTE versions that you are welcome to use and disseminate. If you would like to create a version with your own agency information on it, please contact Cailyn Lingwall for the template.

Missouri Environmental Public Health Tracking (EPHT)

New Community and Occupational Indicators recently added to the Tracking Portal. Community Indicators include information on 5 leading topics and Occupational Health covers 21 different types of indicators. These additional measures can be used by LPHAs to assist in accreditation processes and by citizens, governmental agencies, and businesses throughout the state to learn about and improve worker's health in Missouri and the communities where we live.

CSTE Sponsored Webinars

State-based Occupational Health Surveillance Clearinghouse: CSTE, in collaboration with NIOSH, hosted a teleconference in June 2010 to discuss the State-based Occupational Health Clearinghouse website. NIOSH also explained how to use the RSS Editor to maintain RSS/XML files for the Clearinghouse.

Use of Workers' Compensation Data: The objective of this webinar was to increase the capacity of states to use workers' compensation data for occupational illness and injury surveillance.

The Occupational Health Surveillance Subcommittee convened an educational conference call and webinar in May 2012 to demonstrate how programs can use stories to convey issues, share information, or report progress to stakeholders. Objectives were to learn about the concept and value of story banking; consider individual story components; view examples; examine an Iowa program's experience after using the concept for one year; and learn how to use a template to start your own story bank.
