Cross Cutting : Emergency Preparedness
CSTE members have represented CSTE in a number of meetings and workgroups related to bioterrorism and emergency preparedness in the past, such as CDC’s OPHPR Board of Scientific Counselors, ASTHO’s Preparedness Policy Committee, the CDC OPHPR/HHS ASPR Preparedness Performance Measures, and the National Health Security Preparedness Index, among others. The Public Health Emergency Preparedness Subcommittee focuses on the epidemiology and surveillance-related aspects of public health emergency preparedness. The subcommittee’s goals are to:
  • Serve as a venue to share, update, and inform colleagues of the latest information on public health emergency preparedness
  • Share best practices
  • Shape CSTE’s response to events or incidents and address special projects
  • Develop position statements for emergency preparedness-related topics
Current Activities:
The Subcommittee is currently collecting feedback on PHEP Performance Measures for Budget Period 11 to aid in the revision of the guidance for these measures.
