Health Security, Policy, & Law Steering Committee: Readiness and Response

Leadership: Anilkumar Mangla (Nevada); Scott Troppy (Massachusetts)

The CSTE Public Health Emergency Preparedness Subcommittee focuses on the epidemiology and surveillance-related aspects of public health emergency preparedness and response. The subcommittee’s goals are to:

  • Serve as a venue to share, update, and inform colleagues of the latest information on public health emergency preparedness
  • Share best practices
  • Shape CSTE’s response to events or incidents and address special projects
  • Develop position statements for emergency preparedness-related topics

CSTE members have represented CSTE in several meetings and workgroups related to bioterrorism and emergency preparedness in the past, such as CDC’s CPR Board of Scientific Counselors, ASTHO’s Preparedness Policy Committee, the CDC CPR/HHS ASPR Preparedness Performance Measures, and the National Health Security Preparedness Index, among others.
