Our Work
CSTE's Infectious Disease (ID) Steering Committee works collectively within its various subcommittees and across the organization to strengthen our nation's capacity to prevent, detect, and respond to the threat of infectious diseases.
In alignment with their respective state, local, tribal, and territorial health departments, CSTE members collaborate with federal public health programs (e.g., CDC, FDA, and USDA) and partner organizations (e.g., APIC, APHL, ASTHO,
NACCHO, NASPHV, NASTAD, NEHA, and SHEA) to support projects related to infectious disease epidemiology.
The ID Steering Committee also participates in the annual process of developing and revising CSTE position statements
related to case definitions for infectious diseases, as well as updating the list of Nationally Notifiable Diseases.
