ELR Workgroup Co-Chairs: Nicole Stuver, MPH, Tennessee Department of Health and Cody McNeese, MPH, Oregon Health Authority

The ELR Workgroup meets monthly to convene staff from state, tribal, local, and territorial (STLT) public health agencies (PHAs), and key partners including CDC, Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL), commercial and clinical laboratories, health IT developers and vendors, to discuss issues and solutions directly related to the electronic exchange of laboratory data, including test orders and results reporting, such as the following:

• Meeting national standards and requirements for expanding laboratory reporting needs
• Identifying solutions and best practices for onboarding and receiving laboratory data
• Identifying solutions and best practices for ensuring data quality and managing increasing volumes of laboratory data
• Discussing technical implementation requirements and guidance 
• Sharing best practices, resources, and capacity building ideas 
• Providing peer support
• Identifying opportunities to collaborate with key stakeholders who influence the trajectory of public health data exchange standards and utilization including APHL, CDC, commercial and clinical laboratories, ONC, HL7 International, TEFCA
