Thursday, December 5, 2019

Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologist (CSTE) members have identified a need for a forum to discuss issues related to Institutional Review Board (IRB) and public health practice as they affect applied epidemiology. A new work group has convened to discuss this topic and the next call is Monday, December 9 at 2:00 pm EST. If interested you are invited to register to participate. If you are unable to join but would like to receive future updates from the group, please complete the registration form or join the Basecamp site.

Expected discussion items for this call include:

  • Interpreting the new federal rules effective January 2019
  • Representatives from Kansas and New York will share how they have implemented the new federal rules in their states
  • Open discussion – including single IRB of record
  • Review a proposed work group assessment which will provide a landscape analysis of IRB practice at health departments
We hope you can join the discussion. The call will be recorded and shared with those who register. For questions or more information, please contact Jessica Arrazola at jarrazola@cste.org.
