2020 CSTE Submitted Interim Position Statements Now Available Online Through September 9

In response to the cancellation of the 2020 CSTE Annual Conference and Business Meeting, the CSTE Executive Board has approved the use of the interim position statement process during the COVID-19 pandemic to address the time-sensitive policy issues and case definitions that would have been presented at the Conference for membership consideration.
 
CSTE has received three interim position statements* for Executive Board consideration. These interim position statements are now available on the CSTE website until Wednesday, September 9 for membership review and comment. We strongly encourage members to provide feedback directly to the authors. Please visit the Members Only section of the site to view and download the submitted interim position statements here.  

  • Proposed Interim-20-ID-03: Standardized Case Definition for Alpha-Gal Syndrome
  • Proposed Interim-20-ID-04: Revision to the Standardized Case Definition, Case Classification, and Public Health Reporting for Acute Flaccid Myelitis
  • Proposed Interim-20-ID-05: CSTE recommendations for modernization of laws to prevent HIV criminalization
CSTE’s interim position statement process is used for urgent or time-sensitive issues that must be addressed between annual business meetings. Interim position statements are approved by the CSTE Executive Board and immediately become official CSTE policy until the next CSTE Business Meeting, when they must be ratified by the full Council or they will become null. The Executive Board has opted to seek broad membership review and vetting prior to the Executive Board approval process.
 
Membership Discussion Webinar
A membership-wide interim position statement discussion webinar will be held on Tuesday, September 1 at 4:00-5:00 pm EDT for virtual discussion and engagement. More information, including how to participate in this webinar and the agenda for the webinar, can be found on the CSTE website here.
