The updated 2021 position statement templates are now posted on the CSTE website. Two templates are available: standardized surveillance for diseases/conditions and general policy. There are three mechanisms to submit a position statement for consideration at the 2021 CSTE Annual Conference: ordinary process, expedited handling, and presidential review. Please see the requirements for each and the 2021 submission timeline for more details.   If you plan to submit a 2021 position statement and would like an editable Word version of the template, please complete this template request form. The deadline for position statement submission under the ordinary process is Thursday, March 18, 2021.   Important Notices
    - Submission timeline: All parts of the standardized surveillance template must be complete upon submission to the National Office on or before March 18, 2021, including appendices and the technical supplement.

    - Federal partner/SME involvement: As a reminder, CSTE position statement development is envisioned to be a collaborative process between STLT members and federal partners. This collaboration is especially important for standardized surveillance position statements. The coordination section of each template allows position statement authors to identify a primary federal SME consultant to help champion each position statement within CDC and the Department of Health and Human Services.

Informal position statement discussion webinars will be scheduled in May 2021. The National Office will inform membership when these webinars have been scheduled. Lastly, as a reminder, 2020 approved interim position statements are available on the CSTE website in the Position Statement Archive.   If you have any questions related to the CSTE Policy and Position Statement Process, please email positionstatements@cste.org.
