Recognizing Resolve and Resilience on Public Health Thank You Day 2021
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the public health workforce has demonstrated tremendous resilience. Applied public health epidemiologists at all levels of experience have shown skill, fortitude and determination in facing our present challenges, meeting the needs of communities across the nation, and preparing for future public health crises. We’d like to take this opportunity to commend all CSTE members for their dedication to the overall health of the public and for your tireless commitment in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and other public health threats.

On Monday, November 22, 2021, the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists (CSTE) joins our partners American Public Health Association (APHA) and other leading public health organizations, as well as public health advocates from across the nation, to thank all public health professionals, including applied epidemiologists. As CSTE members continue to demonstrate their resolve and resilience in response to the pandemic, here are some ways you can participate in Public Health Thank You Day 2021 and express gratitude to your peers and colleagues:
  • Join today's special White House Town Hall at 12:00 pm EST. The special event will acknowledge the commitment and hard work the public health community has put into the COVID-19 pandemic response.
  • View CSTE's public health celebration video, which was shared during the 2021 Annual Conference. We'd like to thank everyone who attended the 2021 Conference, and ensure those who haven't seen this special tribute to CSTE can view and enjoy!
  • Visit the PHTYD website for tools and resources you can use for advocacy purposes and to recognize colleagues.
  • Use social media! The PHTYD website contains sample tweets and posts you can use to recognize your colleagues! Be sure to use the hashtag #PHTYD.
In 2021, as the most dangerous pandemic in a century continues to be a part of our lives, CSTE’s gratitude for the determination of our members is immense.
