Jurisdiction Description 

The Dallas County Health and Human Services (DCHHS) and the Dallas County Medical Examiners (DCME) have a very close working relationship and are located within close proximity to each other. DCME sent daily batch reports with COVID-19 test results and timely cause of death (COD) reports to facilitate a more accurate case count and mortality data reporting during the pandemic. From the inception of the Unexplained Respiratory Death (URD) Project, DCHHS involved DCME at every decision-making point and consistently requested for feedback on the collaboration. This project would not be possible without the established healthy working relationship with DCME.
