Legionnaires’ Disease Surveillance Workgroup
 
 
 

Purpose

The CSTE Legionnaires’ Disease Surveillance Workgroup is a group of epidemiologists and other public health professionals interested in infectious disease and environmental health activities related to Legionnaires’ disease surveillance and epidemiology at local, state, tribal, and territorial health departments. The purpose of this workgroup is to inform and improve practices related to Legionnaires’ disease surveillance and response in local, state, tribal, and territorial settings.
 

Goals

  • Develop revisions to the current case definition (09-ID-45) to address current challenges and gaps in Legionnaires’ disease surveillance
  • Identify and document best practices for Legionnaires’ disease surveillance, cluster identification, and outbreak response
  • Identify and engage national partners
