Occupational Health Success StoriesState public health agencies and their partners play a critical role in preventing workplace injuries and illnesses in part because of their broad mission to protect the health of individuals in all groups and environments. They can identify the size, scope and characteristics of work-related illnesses and injuries through access to specialized data sources and investigation of workplace health concerns and hazardous conditions. The success stories featured here highlight achievements of state occupational public health programs. States are encouraged to submit additional stories for posting, using the instructions and template for a story submission. This online clearinghouse of occupational health success stories was created with support from a cooperative agreement from NIOSH.
