The Infectious Disease Steering Committee includes several active subcommittees and workgroups specific to disease categorizations. Subcommittees work collaboratively with other steering committees and subcommittees across the organization. In alignment with their respective state, local, and territorial health departments, CSTE members collaborate with federal public health programs (e.g., CDC, FDA, and USDA) and partner organizations (e.g., APHL, ASTHO, NACCHO, and NASTAD) to support projects related to infectious disease epidemiology. CSTE’s Infectious Disease Steering Committee participates in the annual process of developing and revising CSTE position statements related to case definitions for infectious diseases as well as updating the list of Nationally Notifiable Diseases.
